A Piece of Me In... Paris, France #4

To conclude my photo diary of my time in Paris, I combined the last two days as I didn't take as many pictures. As we had done most of the tourist sightseeing on our first three days, we spent Friday and Saturday wondering around visiting the nice little markets and hidden treasures Paris had to offer. I also had my very first macaron, which was actually very nice! I understand why people love them so much. We spent the last day relaxing and had lunch at a restaurant called Le Petit Cardinal which was recommended to us by an acquaintance and dessert at our fave, Breakfast in America. It was my first time having pecan pie, it was so sweet but really nice.

I hope you enjoyed my photo diary! Hopefully I'll be able to share more of my travelling experiences with you in the future xo

A Piece of Me In... Paris France #3

I loved this doodle in the signature book at the museum... I left a little message too :)
As you can see from this and other posts there are a lot of shots of tress and flowers. I don't know what it was but I just found the nature to be so beautiful in Paris, the trees looked so well kept and made for gorgeous pictures.

We began our day at Jardin du Luxembourg which is a beautiful garden made in 1612 to accompany the residence, Palais du Luxembourg. There was absolutely no shade and the sun was scorching that day... I'm convinced I turned about 3 shades darker! Our journey then took us to Galeries Lafayette which is a well known upmarket department store in Paris. Every floor was filled with many different designer boutiques. I especially enjoyed the fragrance section, and got a lot of ideas for new scents to try out.

Lunch was at a lovely Irish Pub (those homemade chips were lush!) next to Sacré-Cœur Basilica which is a Roman Catholic church dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I love visiting grand churches like that as it makes me really think about myself and my life, just general reflection really. And to finish the day off, we visited yet another sex museum. For those wondering, I also visited one when I went to Amsterdam (click here). I'm not obsessed I promise! Haha! And again, those were the only two decent photos I can share. The museum was very close to the legendary Moulin Rouge which we did not see, but is definitely on my bucket list xo

A Piece of Me In... Paris, France #2

Candid shot of me and the Eiffel Tower
Champs-Élysées seen from the Arc de Triomphe
The second day of our trip was just as jam packed as the first. We started off the day with breakfast at Breakfast in America... again! This time I got French toast topped with bananas which was lovely. We then went to one of the exhibitions at the National Museum of Natural History, which was a bit gruesome as it had a lot of bones and preserved bodies of animals. We paid the Eiffel Tower a visit, however we didn't go up but we got a few nice pictures from a distance. After this, we ventured to Arc de Triomphe and walked up what seemed like a never ending spiral staircase! However, the view from the top was amazing. To end the day we walked along Champs-Élysées which is a popular boulevard in Paris known for its theatres, cafes and luxury shops xo

A Piece of Me In... Paris, France #1

The view from our hotel
So last week I joined a friend on a 4/5 day trip to Paris, France. As you know from a previous post, this was not my first time in Paris, in fact it was my 3rd. However, as it was her first time there were a lot of things she wanted to do so every day was filled with a lot! We went to all the same places I'd already visited and then some. Our train was at 5:40am (yes AM!) so we arrived in Paris early enough to enjoy a whole day filled with touristy stuff. I'm sure you'll be able to tell from the pictures but on the first day we went to Love Lock Bridge, Notre Dame, The Louvre, The Place de la Concorde and Jardin de Plantes at The National Museum of Natural History (however, we didn't actually go in until the next day). And just like the last time I went, the weather was amazing! So much so it was almost unbearable! It was unusual weather for the time but I'm glad the weather was decent and not cold and wet. To start off the day we had breakfast at a lovely little diner called Breakfast in America, I was Hank Marvin (rhyming slang for starving) so I got the Triple Play; three pancakes, three pieces of bacon and three eggs scrambled... Yummers! This trip to France made me realise how much I love the language and so I'm currently attempting to learn it, wish me luck! xo
